Hoop Dance Performance Series with Marianna

PERFORM AT DANCE DAY!

Get hooping on stage this summer at the annual nonprofit Philadelphia Dance Day festival!

Learn, polish and block a complete routine in this concentrated choreographic series, which culminates with a performance at Philadelphia Dance Day. The Dance Day showcase will be held at Plays & Players Theater at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025.

No prior experience required! Hoops will be provided for use and instructor Marianna Hunter will break down all the moves so that everyone can shine.

Since absences can greatly impact blocking for the rest of the group, please make sure you can commit to attending all the sessions as well as the final performance.

Marianna is a passionate and experienced hula hoop dancer and instructor from Philadelphia, PA. Her journey with the hoop began as a fitness endeavor but it quickly evolved into a passion of performance and community involvement. She loves sharing the joy of hula hooping with her local community and is also a SpinCo volunteer. Marianna has taught Intro to Hoop and All Levels Hoop Dance classes to students of all ages and skill levels. Whether you are a beginner looking to learn the basics or an experienced hooper wanting to perform, Marianna’s hoop dance series offers something for everyone. She specializes in blending fun dance moves with easy to learn hoop techniques that create visually stunning routines that makes everyone shine like a star.

WHERE? Rittenhouse Philadelphia Dance Fitness Studio (1923 Chestnut St)

WHEN? Fridays at 5:30PM starting June 20 for 5 weeks (skipping July 4 due to the holiday)

COST? $80 (includes a beginner hoop)
