Anatolia Fire Goddess is traveling to Philly to teach her unique belly dance style. Her one-of-a-kind acts have been performed worldwide, and she is here to share her knowledge!
Strengthen your fan choreography by adding some basic belly dance shimmies to your practice!
Anatolia will focus on teaching the basics of belly dance, including drills to better understand shimmies, undulations, and omis. This is an intro-level class, so do not feel like you need to know what these are! For fan movements, Anatolia will cover variations on spins, tosses, holding fans using the lotus style grip, and folds (including crowns). Students should expect to leave the class having learned a short choreographed routine with their fans. The last half hour of class will be dedicated to build on the routine with more advanced belly dance choreo (optional, you can also just use this time to practice and fine-tune the basic choreo). Please note that Anatolia is also available for follow-up private lessons.
note: please bring your own fans for this workshop, there will be limited props available for borrowing.
Perfect for those looking to add flair to their fan routine. Fan tricks covered are beginner-level, although the last portion of the class offers a chance for students to learn choreography that is at a more advanced level.
This workshop is open to all ages. Class limit is 12.
